The plastic mesh basket is the most common kind of large plastic basket that has been seen across the land. And their ubiquitous presence is not without reason. The mesh basket, while available in a variety of materials (and when plastic is concerned a crazy number of colors) lets you organize and sort pretty much anything you could dream up. They are essentially big, open crates that can be used to organize your life. One of the biggest hidden gems of the mesh basket treasure trove are the numerous plastic inserts and dividers that you can get to increase the functionality of the basket.
Plastic Mesh Baskets
One of the best ways that I know of to organize your belongings is the plastic mesh basket. I think of it to be the best of all the plastic storage boxes that are sold out there for a number of reasons. These reasons include the fact that they are open, which means I don’t have to muck around finding a lost lid and that they are made in a mesh pattern – just like the name says which allows for air to pass through the basket. Since I live in London, there truly is a lot that can be managed with these. I use them for all sorts of things but my favorite use for them is as plastic laundry baskets – the perfect replacement for a hamper for they are durable, water proof and like I said have holes punched through them which allows for air to pass through. This is essential when using plastic baskets to store clothes and other items like shoes and the like.
If you has a plastic basket fetish then these would be your favorite ones. My friend Emma, who happens to have a mild case of undiagnosed OCD loves them and uses them for everything from books to shoes to stocking up on Apples when she ends up buying too many of them in the spring. Since you can get plastic storage baskets in a crazy number of colors you will always be able to find one that fits your décor. I, however, prefer to use them as embellishments thus they need to stand out from the rest of the boxes that they are stored with. Hence I chose fluorescent blue and have another one in lime green. They are truly amazing colors and since I have hung a room freshener in each, my clothes don’t smell at all even if they are in the hamper for weeks on end.
